I have always been obsessed with tone quality, beautiful tunes, lyricism and expressive, emotive playing. All of my favourite players epitomise these attributes. Paul Desmond was one of my first influences; this album is not an attempt to re-create those wonderful 1960's recordings, more of a 'nod' in that direction. I chose the tunes, players and studio for this album with this doctrine in mind.
