Pete Effamy       Ade Fry     Paul Newton

The E.P. Horns. Here is our resume. Scroll down in order to hear samples of our work.

The E.P. Horns were formed in 2000. Adrian Fry and Pete Effamy had worked together for many years but the addition of Paul 'the hair' Newton put the seal on the all-important powerhouse sound and American styling that is synonymous with this horn section.

Their individual credits, spanning a multitude of styles read like a who’s-who of the music world:

Alan Barnes Octet, Acker Bilk And His Paramount Jazz Band, Back To Basie Band, Brand New Heavies, Steve Brookstein, Pete Cater Big Band, Don (the Eagles) Felder, Five Guys Named Moe, Willie Garnett Big Band, Lesley Garrett, Ray Gelato Giants, Frank Griffith Nonet, Tony Hadley Big Band, Incognito, The Jazz Hawai'i Big Band, Kid Creole, Bert Kaempfert Orchestra, Ronan Keating, Gerard Kenny, Bonnie Langford, Sid Lawrence Big Band, Huey Lewis, Pete Long's 9.20 Deluxe, Katrina (and the Waves) Leskanich, Elio Pace, Pop Idol Big Band, Rat Pack, Karen Sharp Quintet, Tommy Smith, David Soul, Shakin’ Stevens, Clark Tracey, Stan Tracey Big Band, Don Weller Electric Octet, X-Factor Big Band.

Here is a selection of sound clips...

Got The Bug Back - a rockin' track by Elio Pace

Still Want You - a song from the above album featuring Adrian... WOW!

Honky Cat - our version of an Elton John classic

Jump, Jive And Wail - Paul blows a storm, from the album above

Stranded - a great Darren Loveday pop song

Body And Soul - a session Pete did for Craig Neil

Whilst the E.P. Horns are essentially a 3-piece line-up, the section can easily be augmented to include a baritone sax (for a really full sound) and/or a second trumpet player (for that extra zing!). In the studio most of this can be addressed by us recording a second voicing of the parts and double-tracking.

The E.P. Horns are equally at home reading your charts, creating/arranging lines and harmonies quickly on the fly and providing improvised solos. We take pride in not only working at the highest level, but working as quickly and as painlessly as possible as we appreciate that time really is money!

Look out for us on the forthcoming Shakin’ Stevens release Now Listen in 2007.

We feel that whilst we're reassuringly excellent, we're not as 'reassuringly expensive' as you might think. As Paul Newton sometimes jokes, "we're some of the better cheaper players!"

Here we are, being worshipped by our bandleader!!
