Three album releases this year. It's been a busy time with scary changes of musical genre let alone juggling clarinet, alto and tenor saxes. A change is said to be as good as a rest so in that respect I'm extremely rested!

The first album, 'Like This', by legendary guitarist Albert Lee is already out. I, along with the E.P. Horns guest on two tracks and we can be seen in concert again with Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes at The Stables in Wavendon on September 2nd, and provisionally on September 27th in London.

The second album has been a long time in coming but is going to be simply astounding - Elio Pace with an album positively brimmed with his own songs. The single 'What A Day' (as below) gives you a flavour of a few other tracks on this album but Elio certainly isn't a one trick pony and there are many surprises. This album will be toe-tappingly explosive, look out for a release in the autumn.

Thirdly, my own album. This has been even longer in coming but the time was finally right. It's a jazz quartet album of standards that echoes the lyricism of days gone by. 'The Sound Of A Dry Martini' is also due out in the autumn.

Following the airplay Terry Wogan gave to the Christmas tune 'What A Day' (by Elio Pace) on his BBC Radio 2 show Wake Up To Wogan, Desmond Carrington rung-in the new year nicely for the us by playing 'It's Not Unusual' again on his show The Music Goes Round.

Both Terry and Desmond have been long-standing supporters of Elio and his band and after the Elio Pace single 'What A Day', the album Come And Get It by the Elio Pace Band has been well represented with airplay of 'Two More Bottles Of Wine' ('Wake Up To Wogan'), 'Proud Mary' and 'It's Not Unusual' ('The Music Goes Round').

I had a great time recording 'What A Day' - you can see some of the other 'protagonists' (what a shower, albeit a very talented shower!) on my photo page. You can also have a sneak preview of the song on my sounds page.

Both 'What A Day' and 'Come And Get It' (and 'Like This') are available for download on iTunes.

Elio is currently touring with world renowned guitarist Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes. I thoroughly recommend seeing them, and can report that they are as exciting to listen to as they are to play with!

Following Shakin' Stevens' success of 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' on ITV1 and the E.M.I. release of the double 'A' side single 'Trouble', the E.P. Horns (Paul Newton, Pete Effamy and Adrian Fry) are on Shaky's new album 'Now Listen' which has now been released in Denmark,  by SonyBMG.

So, watch this space or... listen to those airwaves!
